This luxurious body oil was created in collaboration with Colleen and Linnea for the Beautiful Nomad Retreat in Tuscany. During the retreat, I taught Abhyanga, Gua Sha, Acupressure, and some East Asian Herbal Medicine. I have always wanted to make this body oil available in our own clinic, as Abhyanga is one of my most cherished beauty rituals and a part of my daily self-care routine.

I formulated this blend using my favorite organic plant and seed oils, such as olive, jojoba, and rose hip seed, as the base. I lightly scented it with a therapeutic blend of organic essential oils. The star ingredient of this oil, for me, is the locally gathered hummingbird sage, my favorite native plant found in our foothills, often beneath majestic oaks. This oil is rarely available because the plants are native and require rain to thrive. The sage is combined with Cypress, which activates the lymphatic system, increases circulation, reduces muscle and joint pain, supports detoxification, and balances hormones. I also added Vetiver and Rose, two of my favorite oils, to nourish the yin, reduce inflammation, relieve anxiety and trauma, promote better sleep, open the heart, and center the spirit. Lastly, Bergamot was included to balance the nervous system, soothe the liver, aid digestion, reduce depression, and uplift the mind and body.

More about Abhyanga: Abhyanga is a deeply nourishing practice that tones and firms the skin and muscles, lubricates joints, stimulates lymphatic circulation and detoxification, and calms and soothes the entire body. It can also improve stamina, promote better sleep, reduce cellulite, and soften and smooth the skin. Abhyanga reconnects us with ourselves, creating a calming ritual in the morning or evening, and providing extra care to specific areas of the body that may need it, such as massaging a sore knee, soothing a bloated belly, or releasing tension in the neck and shoulders.
